Baby Lyla | 5 Month Portraits

Holy moly, do babies grow up fast! I took Lyla’s newborn portraits only five months ago, and she already looks like a different baby! Even at 5 months, she’s still a little peanut, weighing only 11 pounds! She is the happiest baby and has such a contagious smile. I cannot wait to take more portraits of little Lyla as she grows.

A couple weeks ago, I met up with Emily and her mother in downtown Annapolis right after sunrise. She’s the first senior I’ve ever photographed that requested a sunrise session versus a sunset session! Emily has been home schooled her whole life and finished up her high school classes this past fall. She is currently taking college classes before she official graduates high school and she hopes to become a special effects make up artist! I’m so glad we were up early to beat the boat show rush and make use of the perfect weather. Take a look at this beautiful senior and be sure to leave her some love!

Renee + Adam: Trash the Dress | Riviera Maya, Mexico

Last Wednesday, I flew down to Mexico to photograph Renee + Adam’s incredible destination wedding. While their wedding photos won’t be blogged for another week or two, I absolutely had to post the edits from their “trash-the-dress” session. If you’ve never heard of a trash the dress session, they’re SO much fun and definitely worth it if you don’t think you’ll ever use your wedding dress again. Renee and Adam were such troopers, waking up at 6:30am the morning after their wedding to hop into the Caribbean Sea and gigantic resort pool in their designer wedding garments! I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Suzanne and Nick in downtown Annapolis a few weeks back in March. I have to admit that this was one of my favorite weddings, ever. The couple, their family, and their friends were SO friendly and fun. They made me feel so welcomed as I documented their special day. Holly + Bruce | Washington, DC Wedding

Holly and Bruce are an amazing DC couple. They had a loving ceremony at the Grace Reformed Church of Washington, DC, the church they attend regularly, and a beautiful ceremony at Hotel Palomar near Dupont circle. The wedding was filled with personal touches, from the library of wedding favors to the typewriter guestbook. When it came to the bouquet toss, rather than throwing the flowers to her bridesmaids, Holly gave her bouquet to her mother. These sweet moments really made Holly and Bruce’s wedding special and memorable. Take a look below at this lovely couple and be sure to leave them some love.

Hiking Crowders Mountain

Yesterday, to take advantage of the most amazing spring weather ever, Caleb and I headed an hour south of Charlotte to go hiking up Crowders Mountain. We spent the majority of the afternoon and early evening on our six mile hike, and of course I brought my camera along for the trip. The view at the top of the mountain was 100% worth the rocky trek up. Take a look below at a few photos of our incredible view!

Brendan + Julia | Key West, FL Wedding

Back in the summer of 2011, I photographed Tara + Sean‘s fantastic waterfront wedding in Severna Park, Maryland. About a year later, I received an email from Sean’s brother’s fiancée, asking if I was available to for a destination wedding in January 2013. I had photographed a close friend’s wedding in Key West in September 2011, so I was crazy excited to be able to travel back to such a beautiful place. After months of nailing down travel plans, it was finally January and I was beyond ready and pumped to capture Brendan + Julia’s beautiful wedding in Key West! Although my day of travel was exhausting, with three failed attempts at landing on a cloudy Key West runway, until finally taking a midnight bus ride from Miami to the gorgeous island, their wedding day couldn’t have been any more perfect! Not only is Julia a stunning bride, but a talented one as well! She created the centerpieces, bouquets, and other decorations seen throughout her wedding. I am so thankful that Julia, Brendan, and their families flew me down to Key West to photograph an absolutely amazing day. Do you remember these cuties? I photographed them back in the spring at Quiet Waters Park and immediately fell in love with them! They are the funniest siblings I’ve ever met- such camera hams and stuck to each others’ sides. They aren’t afraid to joke around in front of the camera, but are also so sweet and perfect little models. Around Christmas time, we headed to downtown Annapolis for some holiday portraits and had a blast in the process. Meet Rachel! Rachel is a high school senior whose dream school is University of Maryland. She loves the big school, big sports feel of Maryland! She’d like to major in business or biology, as she wants to one day run her own medical practice. She is currently counting down the days until her senior year is over and keeping busy with her friends and schoolwork. Her favorite memories in high school are meeting a ton of people from all over the state and travelling. Take a look at this beautiful brunette and be sure to leave her something sweet.
