What is a portrait?
A portrait is any artistic representation of a person, couple or group of people. A portrait session covers anything from seniors to basic head shots, family photos, engagement sessions, and more!
How do I schedule a portrait session?
Easy! Shoot me an email at caitlinkellagher@gmail.com or click on the “contact” tab at the top of this website. You will be directed to fill out a form that will be sent to my inbox. I would suggest requesting a session 2-3 weeks in advance, as I tend to book up quickly, especially during the school year!
Where does my session take place?
Rather than shoot inside a studio, you get to choose the site in which we shoot your portraits! Some of my favorite locations include downtown Annapolis, Quiet Waters Park, and various rustic locations around the Annapolis/Arnold/Severna Park area. I can even come to your family home! I prefer outdoor locations, however, I will definitely shoot indoors for newborn/infants and boudoir portraits if that is what you prefer. As long as your location is within 20 miles of the 21012 zip code, you do not need to pay any travel fees.
What do I wear?
I think this is my favorite part of a session! I love seeing what my senior girls choose to wear- their style is always so fun and different. I suggest taking a look around my site and seeing what my past clients have worn if you’re a little lost. Go for colors that compliment your features. Maybe even throw in a pop of color somewhere- such as a bring yellow pair of flats, or ruby red necklace. Stick with solid prints- stay away from busy patterns that distract the eye from the subject of the photo- you!
How long is a portrait session?
Each session, whether it be a basic or family session, is one hour long. I’ve found that this is the perfect amount of time to get just the right amount of shots in without everyone’s smiles starting to fade! If you feel you need more time, we can set something up when you inquire about a session.
How much does a session cost?
Portrait sessions can be split between 3 individuals. This means that you can share a session with your best friends, a boyfriend or girlfriend, your parents, anyone! You can even bring your pet (animals do not count as a person in your session- so bring as many family pets as you’d like- so long as they don’t all run away!). These sessions cost $200. Split two ways- $100/person. Split three ways- $66/person
Family sessions are for groups of 4 individuals or more. The pricing for family portraits is $250.
Please take note that a $25 fee will be applied to any returned checks.
What do I get with my session?
With your session, you receive 50+ fully edited photos, each edited in color, black and white, and a sepia tone. Each client receives their own password protected online viewing and ordering gallery. You also receive a complimentary high-resolution CD with the rights to print and share all of your edited photos. I suggest taking your CD to Ritz photo to have enlargements made (locations in Annapolis include the Annapolis Mall and Harbour Center)- their prints always turn out lovely!
Do you offer printing services?
The online gallery in which you can view your photos allows you to order prints of your photos as well. I have a few packages put together, be sure to inquire about them if interested! I am able to print glossy, matte and metallic photos-from wallet size (perfect for seniors) all the way up to a 30 x 40 print, as well as beautiful wrapped canvas prints and more!
Do you make albums or photo books?
You do have the option of ordering a custom-made album or photo book. My printing company of choice is Miller’s Lab- I am always amazed at their quality in printing. If you are interested in a photo book or album, please be sure to inquire about one while we set up your session!
Do you offer corporate head shots?
Yes! I have both lighting equipment and a basic backdrop. Corporate head shot pricing can be discussed upon inquiry.
